Season
The north of Argentina shares the same weather with Peru and Bolivia, with strong showers in summer (mid December to mid March). This make the fall and springtime the best times to travel; blue skies and nice temperatures most days, with the occasional hot day. October is therefore a great time for cycling in this region as, even though the weather is great at this time of year, it is low season so the roads are very clear and hotels and sites are not busy.

Service
You (and your bike) will be transported to and from this trip in an exclusive 15/18 passenger Minibus with TV and video. A support vehicle and bike mechanic will be with us at all times, ready to assist and we have spare bikes on hand for the rare instance where your bike breaks down! We have the best local and bi-lingual guides to ensure that your trip is as informative and enjoyable as possible.

Throughout our trip in this remote region, we will stay at hosterias (inns) and cabins which allow us to get close to the local culture and make the most of the fantastic hospitality of this area. All breakfasts and lunch are included from the first riding day on Sunday to our last day, which ends at San Miguel de Tucuman. Food is important on a cycling trip and we want to keep you well fed! Typical breakfasts will include coffee/tea, orange juice, cereals, fruits, croissants, bread & butter and ham, or cheese and Jam. Typical lunches include Tartas (a classic meal made of a type of cake with cheese and tomato inside – you have to eat it to understand how good it is!), empanadas (pies with meat, cheese and olives inside), meat sandwiches with salad (eg lettuce, tomato, egg plant). Our support vehicle is always well stocked with Gatorade, granola bars, brownies, trail mix, fruits, tea, coffee and soups to keep us energized and enjoying our trip.

Please note that a single occupancy room is not available at every lodging we are staying, so please let us know if wanting your own room (single supplement would apply). Some lodgings have triple occupancy.

This ride is incredible! However it is challenging, with 7 days of cycling and 50km to cover on most days. Riding is mainly on dirt roads with some paved ones and most of the trip’s stages are between 2000 and 3000 meters in altitude! You will want to be in shape and have good technical ability to enjoy this trip.
